When is Enough is Not Enough?
This news article came to my attention this week, 11/16/09.
Salaries and bonuses…Ok, what now?
I have been aware of this for many years but maybe it’s no longer the “right thing to do”. You decide.
I was glad to see this article use both terms…
“Rocketing medical costs and insurance premiums combined with their impact on consumers and the economy is at the center of the fierce congressional debate on how to overhaul the nation’s health care system.”
Contributors to the high cost of medical care…
- Professional medical care, medical equipment, drugs
- Health Insurance
- Unhealthy life styles (don’t pretend to not understand this one)

Add legal costs, to your list, we need tort reform in addition to single payer health care in the U.S. Canadian Health care have add preventive health care to promote people taking responsibility for their own good health. The motivation for them is living longer. The Canadian system isn’t perfect, nothing is but produces a system that is head and shoulders better in every respect compared to the U.S.A. which I find shocking and disappointing.
Interesting that you have doctors income on your list, no one addresses that and it should be put in to the equation since the federal government often suppliments costs for students in medicine and like every other profession some practice medicine with greed, just human nature, I guess.
